Our Journey

1975 – A Humble Beginning

From a small garage in 1975, Andrew Leigh founded Leigh Ltd with a vision to craft high-quality hand tools. Despite the economic challenges of the late 1970s, his determination and ingenuity set the foundation for a lasting legacy.

1982 – Expanding Horizons

In 1982, we broadened our scope by introducing cable reels, marking the start of our import and sales operations. This milestone opened the door to new opportunities and set the stage for future growth.

Building Partnerships

1983 – New Home, New Opportunities

In 1983, we moved to Burnt Oak, Edgware and welcomed our first employee. We secured exclusive partnerships, including a UK agency for a leading German brand and a collaboration with Black & Decker. These steps strengthened our place in the electrical supply chain and opened the door to steady growth.

1988 – Entering Manufacturing 

By 1988, we moved into manufacturing, starting with UK-made cable reels. This expansion led to new product lines, including extension leads and multi-socket solutions, and set the base for long-term customer partnerships.

Growing Bigger, Thinking Smarter

1992 – Strategic Expansion in Colindale

To meet growing demand, we moved to a larger, purpose-built facility in Colindale. It became our hub for design, development, and growth. We invested in in-house tooling and expanded our sourcing to China, building strong partnerships with major UK retailers and positioning ourselves for the next phase of expansion.

2000 – Strengthening Our Foundation

Purchasing the Colindale property gave us stability and control. A key manufacturing partnership in China supported us through market challenges, helping us broaden our product range and maintain supply. This focus on quality and trusted relationships continues to drive our success today.

A New Era of Leadership

2012 – A Leadership Transition that Shaped Our Future

In 2012, Mr. Saleem Dadabhoy joined Connexion Electrical with a clear and ambitious vision for its future. His leadership brought a sharp focus to growth, driving the expansion of our product range, reinforcing global manufacturing partnerships and streamlining operations for greater efficiency.

That vision reached a defining milestone in 2023, when Connexion Electrical came under the ownership of Site Tools Ltd., led by Mr. Dadabhoy. This transition sparked a wave of transformation — the launch of a fully redesigned website, a new warehouse management system to improve operational accuracy, and a strengthened digital presence across social media. More than 120 new products were also introduced, expanding our range and bringing greater choice to our customers. These initiatives did more than modernize our operations; they gave the business a stronger structure, a clearer identity, and the agility to thrive in a competitive and fast-changing market.

2022 – Post-Covid Revival

Despite uncertainty, we remained resilient. In 2022, a wave of innovation redefined our path—new product launches, a refreshed website, and a vibrant catalog marked our commitment to evolving with the times.
